Hi, I’m Amber, Junior Class President [Amber]

Hey everybody, welcome to my world of PROM! My name is Amber and I am your average high school girl. This blog is going to document the fun, crazy, exciting, and sometimes stressful journey to prom. I live in Marietta, Georgia and I am the junior class president at my school. Just like many other teenage girls, I love my friends and hanging out with them. I love shopping, clothes, and fashion, but I would not go as far as labeling myself as a fashionista.

My being president adds an extra twist to this blog because it is the junior class’ responsibility to plan prom, which means my fellow officers and myself are in charge of prom. Everybody enjoys going to prom and dancing, but not everybody knows the work going on behind the scenes before the big night.

All of you will read about the stresses and pleasures of planning prom. The road to prom is going to be a bit of a journey, but I know the time will fly by before I know it!

What makes this both exciting and nerve-wrecking is I have never been to prom before. I cannot wait until the big day. The countdown has already begun and on March 15 of 2008, Wheeler High School will have an absolutely fabulous prom!

Hi, I’m Amy from Oklahoma City [Amy]

Hey! So this is my first post! I am 18 and a senior at a small private high school in Oklahoma City. I am having the busiest, craziest, most amazing senior year! There have been some ups and downs but all together it has been so fun.

I am involved in tons of different things at school. I am one of the editors of the yearbook and that is such a big job! I am also on Clancy Club. We plan most of the spirit events and dances throughout the year. One thing we do not plan, though, is prom. The junior class does that.

Prom feels 10 million years away, but the first day of my senior year seemed like yesterday. The year is going so fast, so I know that I am going to tell myself that prom is so far off and then all of a sudden it’s going to be here, and I am most likely not going to be ready!

Only juniors and seniors can go to prom at my school. Even if you are younger and an upperclassman asks you, you still cannot go. Last year I thought prom was so fun. And I am hoping that this year’s prom is going to be just as fun, if not more! As of now, I do not have anyone special in mind as a date. I do not have a boyfriend right now, but a lot could happen between now and the prom, so we will see what happens as the dance comes closer!

I will keep you updated on my date status and the dress search as prom draws nearer. I am excited to use my video camera to get some videos posted of everything! You will be able to see exactly what I am up to for prom! Also, I am planning on having the pre-prom for my huge group of friends at my house. Stay tuned!
