A Prom Song Released Today February 3, 2009
Did you hear that Lil Wayne has a new song out called “Prom Queen”? It debuts today but it actually leaked earlier this weekend on YouTube.
The lyrics are a teeny bit risque (he sings about the girl’s “fancy underwear”), but not that bad — the song is basically about the guy falling for the most popular girl (Prom Queen), she rejects him and leaves him with a broken heart. But in the end, she is crying because he turns out to be pretty cool, maybe even Prom King-worthy, and it’s too late to go back.
You know what I’ve noticed in my last couple years as prom editor? The hip-hop world loves prom more than we realize at first! Remember last year O’Neal McKnight titled his album Prom 2088? [Check out CosmoGirl.com’s interview with him if you need a refresher].
Do you like the hip-hop songs themed around prom? Will they be on your iPod dance playlist this year?
