Wondering what it is for Spring 2009, season of your prom? According to super serious research - yes, people actually study this at a center called the Pantone Color Institute! - the color is Palace Blue. Blues and purples will be hot in general, Pantone predicts, and we’ll also see vibrant greens, fuchsias, and yellows to complement them. Have you thought about a blue dress? It is a Cinderella classic, and you can make it fun for prom. Just search the dresses on MyPromStyle.com for ideas, like I did.
Palace Blue: fyi
It’s similar to cornflower blue, like this.

I’d go a shade brighter — the effect will be a little less bridesmaid, a little more prom queen. Search the Dress Finder on MyPromStyle.com for a full range, but here’s a steal and a splurge I found.
STEAL: $150, at JCPenney — found this one in our $150 and Less Prom Dresses flipbook!

SPLURGE: approx $300, by Aidan Mattox - found in MyPromStyle.com’s Dress Finder.

To accessorize with this color, try dramatic crystal chandelier earrings, silver shoes, and a pink clutch that pops — with pink lips to match, of course. (Try the CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain — it’s super easy to apply, like coloring your lips with a marker.) For a clutch, try this one from Forever 21 — a bargain at $12.50.

Have you narrowed your prom dress down to a color yet?
