Tammy’s Profile December 15, 2008

I’m the web editor of MyPromStyle.com, and I love my job as your prom expert! I also edit MisQuinceMag.com, for Latinas celebrating their quinceanera / Sweet 15, and help run DonateMyDress.org, an outstanding network of local dress drive organizations.

In the office, I’m lucky to sit among the fun staff of Seventeen and I work very closely with the editors of Seventeen.com, CosmoGirl.com, and Teenmag.com. I also produce the Ultimate Prom video series with a really awesome group of New York City high school students. Starting in February, we’ll showcase the best prom trends, irresistible prom drama, and hot new music from the Universal Motown record label. In the meantime, watch last year’s prom concert here!

I live in…New York City, but I’m a bonafide Jersey Girl.

My daily blog reads…Seventeen’s 17 Buzz, CosmoGirl’s The Daily Kiss, and TeenFashionista.com.

In high school I was…editor-in-chief of my school paper, The Viking Vibe.

My favorite prom memory…the Ultimate Prom 2008! We gave St. Francis Prep in Queens, NY a dream prom concert featuring JoJo, Ashanti, and Lloyd. We’re going to do it all again in ‘09 with a new school, new talent, and a new twist! Tune in to our video series here.

My favorite dress labels are…Betsey Johnson and Chloe & Reese.

My all-time favorite prom scene is…“Saved by the Bell” (find yours here, in our slide show of the 17 best prom scenes!)

The fashion icon I most admire is…Audrey Hepburn. I love her classic style and the humanitarian work she did around the world.

My superlative in the yearbook would be…actually, I was voted “Most Shy” but don’t tell anyone now…they’d never believe you! I guess if I did it all over again, I’d be “Most Likely to be Prom Queen.” :-)

Hello, Tammy !

My name is Bianca Roman, and I am a junior at Fashion Industries High School.
I just wanted to thank you for cooming to my school on March 27th for career day,
I really enjoyed your presentation and what you had to say about what you do.
What I enjoyed the most was to know that even though you work in graphic design and organizing this web page, you do not pass all of your time in a 4×4 cubicle, which is a sterio type, but that you interact with other people outside of your work area like the students that are taking on the challenge to design the best prom dress.

I honestly enjoyed your presentation and am thinking about persuing at career in web and graphic design.

Sincerely,
Bianca Roman (:
